Wisper Cox, born November 1998, first showed an interest and talent while singing along to Charley Pride, George Strait, Martina McBride, Kenny Chesney, Tanya Tucker and other classic country singers while riding along in the pickup with Dad and Mom in Haltom City, TX.
“By the time she was 4, she was performing Animal Crackers by Shirley Temple for restaurant patrons while at dinner with her family.”
In 2007, Wisper and family moved to Springtown, TX and she became a member of the All-District Honor Choir where she auditioned and received a solo piece for the choir’s Spring Show. Through choir she had the opportunity to audition for Springtown High School’s rendition of The Wizard of Oz in February 2008 where she played the part of a munchkin. In January 2010 she auditioned for The Sound of Music at SHS and starred in the role of Marta von Trapp.
Wisper enjoys singing classic country, new country, pop and show themes. Just recently, she has started singing Yodeling songs. With some coaching from the talented Janet McBride, yodeling came easy for her.
Currently Wisper has been performing at The Cross Timbers Opry in Stephenville, TX, The Texas All Star Review at Billy Bob’s in Fort Worth, TX, Wild West Festival in Springtown, TX, Farr Best Theater in Mansfield, TX, The Wylie Opry in Wylie, TX, The Cowtown Opry in Fort Worth, TX, Azle Opry in Azle, TX and has honor to sing our National Anthem at the Peach Festival 2011 in Weatherford, TX, the North Texas State Fair and Rodeo in Denton, TX.
In her spare time Wisper enjoys riding her horse, swimming, writing songs, spending time with her cousins and friends and having fun singing at local venue’s karaoke night.
